Excellence Story
Four generations, one passion for the Italian “Saper Fare”, the art of making new ideas come true. This is Setvis’ story, a manufacturing excellence set in the heart of an Italian north-western town, Vercelli.
After filing a US patent for a screwing device for compression molding, Mario Segre founded Aclastite to manufacture horn-hoff buttons and switches. Setvis story starts here.
Mario Segre reorganized his business to face the economic and political events. As a result, Setvis was founded and the Bakelite compression molding commenced.
Setvis company moved to Vercelli, where it’s still headquartered nowadays. Because of Mussolini’s Race Laws, the Segres lost control of the family business and the company was moved to Milan, where it run until the fall of Fascism in Italy.
The founder’s son Pierangelo Segre took the business back in the family at the beginning of the ’50s. To relaunch Setvis Spa, he revitalized the thermoset direct compression molding, which shortly became as the company core business.
The extraordinary growth during the 60’s ended up in the launch of a new company. Pierangelo Segre founded Fisat srl, specialized in coil manufacturing for the mechanical-textile sector.
Introducing IT technology, CNC centers and CNC molding machines. With an all-new organization, the company production expanded globally in the dental market. In 1983 the two family companies were merged under the corporate name of SETVIS-FISAT Srl.
Setvis-Fisat encouraged the rise of IMT (Integrated Mechanical Team), our network of partners connecting 5 other companies specialized in precision mechanics. We joined together to grow our business and support each other.
In-house 3d Lab opening and 3Dreamalize new brand launched to cover additive manufacturing projects using SLA and FDM technology. Innovation is here to stay.
Moldmaker Mery Stampy was acquired to get Setvis moldmaking unit capacity instantly doubled.
Our new facility in Borgo Vercelli opened to respond the need of authomated process and digital technology. All the company departments moved here to keep the company innovation plan running on robotics and biomatherial research.
